A Coral Gables man shot and killed his 10-year-old son while cleaning a shotgun Thursday morning, according to police.
Christopher Johnson, 34, was wiping down the gun on the living room couch at about 7 a.m., according to the Coral Gables Police Department. His son was sitting next to Johnson watching TV when a bullet was released and entered the boy’s skull, police said.
Paramedics and police arrived at the house, where the boy was pronounced dead.
Johnson has not been charged with the shooting; police are still investigating.
